Things that you need to know before applying to adopt.
1...we mainly re-home in pairs. We get the odd single ferret that won't mix with others.
2...everyone in your home needs to be onboard. Including your landlord.
3....You sign a contract.
4. ....you need to find a vet that is ferret knowledgeable.
5.....All our adults are microchipped and nuetered. Adults adoption fee is £40 each.
6. ....kits...when adopting a kit you will sign a contract stating that they will be neutered at the appropriate time and not used for breeding. You may be asked for proof of this. We offer a reduced rate if you use our vets. Kits are microchipped. Kit adoption fee is £25.
7...We re-home indoor and outdoor ferrets. Outdoor housing, we will not rehome to small hutches. It must be at least a 5ft double with outdoor access such as a run. Aviary type housing or chicken coops are ideal, but please make sure that they are on concrete or slabs as ferret do dig, they are amazing escape artists. Ferrets are inquisitive and love to explore and play. So the more room you have the more you can enrich their lives. Indoor housing..again bigger the better. Ferret nation and ferret critter cages are great and you can sometimes get Preloved ones online.
8....they say curiosity killed the cat. This applies to ferrets also. So ferret proof your garden and ferret proof your home. They will climb and they will jump. They will dig up your plants, they will go under your bed and sofa, they will steal your things and stash them. They will try to eat things that are no good to them or harmful to them.
9.....ferrets adopted from us must not be sold on or given to anybody else. If you can't keep your ferret then it must be returned to rescue. No refund is given.
10...most of all enjoy your ferret. They are the most beautiful, nosey, funny, feisty, intelligent little animals that you will ever have the privilege to own.
